A workshop was held in Ebolowa from 26 to 28 March 2025 to draft a report on the implementation of the NSDTVS.
This initiative was launched after approval by the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Regional Development (MINEPAT) in December 2023.
The work entailed reviewing the National Strategy, identifying challenges, and making recommendations for improvement.
This workshop provided an opportunity to gather meaningful feedback on the adoption of the Strategy by the stakeholders concerned, as well as on the effective implementation of the planned actions. Discussions took place in a participatory manner with the national technical team, supplemented by various stakeholders.
The workshop in Mbalmayo brought together 33 participants from different backgrounds, including government administrations, public and private organisations, as well as technical and financial partners. Given this diversity of stakeholders, activities also enabled to foster synergy between various stakeholders in the sector and ensure collective support for the project to maximise its impact on the country’s economic development. The resulting Strategy report will outline the state of implementation, funding analysis, and recommendations.
The National Strategy to Develop Technical and Vocational Skills in Cameroon focuses on training human resources to drive the country’s economic development. This strategy, developed with the World Bank, under the SESDP, aims to meet the challenges of Cameroon’s economic development, by focusing on training human resources needed for the structural transformation of the national economy.
The NSDTVS is indeed part of a broader vision for Cameroon’s economic development. By 2030, the country aims to have a significant number of young people and adults equipped with the technical and vocational skills necessary to drive economic growth.
